Why are these terms of use in place?

I have been operating my websites since 1999 and comply with the legal requirements for identification. This means that I am transparent to every visitor to my websites.

The website of the Hamburg consumer protection agency contained an article in which they proudly announced that they had already issued warnings to over 100 websites for not clearly indicating the existence of so-called ‘cookies’ and other devices.

As I operate a private website with no commercial background, I have decided to make these points very clear to you as a user of my website.

I hope that this will enable me to avoid a warning from the Hamburg consumer protection agency or other organisations.

Since this notice has been posted on my website, the number of visits from criminal IP addresses has decreased significantly. This is the positive side of these terms of use.

Unfortunately, this also means that visitors like you are deterred from agreeing to these terms of use.

I am sorry about this, but in a world where official providers of information can be warned for alleged errors, I must protect myself from this.

What surprises me: Almost all websites I visit inform their visitors what happens to their data and how many ‘interested partners’ the data is passed on to. It is not uncommon to see that 150 - 190 partners with ‘legitimate interests’ receive your data. They then use this for advertising and other dubious purposes. And you agree to all of this when you click ‘Accept All’ on these websites. Even my bank operates within this framework, and I had to agree to it!

But that doesn't seem to bother the visitors to these websites. Even linking your data to so-called ‘social media’ doesn't seem to bother anyone!

But when I point out the legal regulations to which I am subject, you shy away from agreeing.

I cannot and will not understand this, but I have to accept it.

I hope that as a visitor to my website, you understand my motives and can agree to my terms of use!

I wish you every success when visiting my website, which I have created especially for you.
